Experience breath as the basis for sound and voice

Bodywork for musicians

Optimal breathing function is essential for a healthy, resilient voice, a full sound when making music and for a balanced and self-confident musical personality.
The informative practice sessions offered throughout the year in individual and group settings offer individual and general exercises for breathing and body work with the following focal points:

  • Awareness of breathing through experiential and free flow of breath,
  • Perception, balance, posture, movement and other individual focuses in this field
  • Breath and body as an expression of inner state and as a tool for reducing stress and stage fright
  • Perception of permeability and flexibility,
  • Training sensitivity and focus

Another central aspect at the interface between music education and health in this course is breath and body work in relation to pain reduction:

  • Developing strategies to alleviate muscular tension
  • Teaching preventative measures against physical complaints
  • Addressing the connection between breathing and bodywork and the individual perception of stress
